On December 3 and 4, the Drap-Art Market in Plaça Reial offers recycled products from more than 20 artists and anticipates the International Festival of Artistic Recycling, which will take place in Barcelona from 12/17/2010 to 01/09 2011.

Next Friday and Saturday, December 3 and 4, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Plaça Reial will be the setting for the Drap-Art Market. The initiative, which was also carried out last July, now repeats due to the public success on that occasion, and anticipates Drap-Art 2010, the International Festival of Artistic Recycling, which will take place at the CCCB and its surroundings December 17, 2010 and January 9, 2011.

The Drap-Art Market is part of the “La Reial ens mou” project, promoted by the Association of Friends and Merchants of Plaça Reial. More than 20 artists will offer the most diverse products made with recycled materials: necklaces made from forks and table cutlery, decorative objects made from cans that take on animal shapes or brooches made with old telephone handsets, among many other pieces.

With the Drap-Art Market, Plaça Reial becomes a point of reference for responsible consumption, environmental sensitivity, leisure, culture and art.

As of December 17, Drap-Art 2010, the International Festival of Artistic Recycling of Catalonia, returns to Barcelona to celebrate its 7th edition in its current format. This year, as a novelty, in addition to the traditional Drap-Art art and design fair the weekend before Christmas (December 17, 18 and 19), there will also be a Three Kings fair, on the 3rd, 4th and 5th from January. The exhibition will be held at the CCCB until January 9, 2011.

Drap-Art has once again demonstrated its convening power with almost 300 projects received to participate in the new edition. Among them, more than 100 pieces by 33 selected artists have been chosen, in addition to 10 invited artists who will also exhibit their works during the contest. Installations, furniture, fashion and numerous groundbreaking pieces can be seen this year at Drap-Art 2010, a very special edition in which the Drap-Art Association celebrates its 15th anniversary.
