This septic tank was made in the city of Uberlândia, Brazil, an interesting alternative for the reuse of materials that would otherwise be discarded, at the same time that it solves part of the problem of sanitation, common in many cities in the world.
The person in charge of this project has been the Municipal Water and Wastewater Department (DMAE), the body responsible for creating the system and manufacturing.
But, in order not to limit knowledge, they have created a manual with which you will be able to replicate the idea step by step anywhere.
The basis for the manufacture of this septic tank is truck tires, often obtained free of charge. According to DMAE, this project has attracted many farmers and people who live on farms and ranches in peripheral areas, poorly served by sewage collection networks.
Each pit uses eight tires, divided into two modules. The connection is made directly on the toilet. In the first module, waste decomposition occurs through bacteria. The organic matter is deposited at the base of this first module, while the generated liquid reaches the second module, where the bacteria continue to act, eliminating up to 95% of organic pollutants. The resulting liquid, through a drain, can be used for irrigation.
This septic tank will have to be cleaned by a specialized company every 2-3 years, logically depending on its use, which will eliminate the waste correctly.
Right click here the manual how to do a septic tank to access. Although the manual is in Portuguese, you can follow it without problems.
