This idea is very easy to do in case of emergency or need, because there is nothing on hand to heat a soup at the campsite, for example, or because we need to light up any room. This tutorial is going to teach you how to make a small alcohol stove out of an aluminum can in a few minutes.
The aluminum is a very light metal, due to its flexibility and consistency is the most used for manufacturing everyday products or food beverage containers. So for this project, you can reuse your soda cans and help reduce waste. If you follow these simple steps, almost only by looking at the images you will be able to do it, you can build (with few materials and minimal skills) a portable travel or cooking stove in case you need a little energy.
Materials for making an alcohol stove.
The materials you will need are:
- 2 aluminum cans of any soda.
- 1 marker pen.
- A pair of scissors or something to act as a cutter.
- A small sandpaper.
- A nail or screw.
Steps to make an alcohol stove.
Follow the next steps:
- Step 1.
Mark with the marker where you have to cut and pierce the can. Cut the two cans in two parts at the bottom, as you see in the photo. Make the holes that make a burner shape in one of them, the other is not necessary since you will only use it as a base, as many as you are going to use this stove.
- Step 2.
Once you have cut the cans with the scissors and made the holes in one of them, sand the imperfections so as not to cut yourself. Put cotton in the base and join the cans as seen in the image.
- Step 3.
You just have to fill the tank with alcohol through the central hole, cover it with the screw and start using it.
- Ready for use.
Turn on the mini alcohol stove you just made and heat the soup for dinner ????
