New generation of LG Neon 2 solar panels, higher performance in less space

LG Business Solutions is launching a new generation of solar modules in the United States – the latest LG NeON 2 panels, featuring even higher efficiency and superior performance characteristics than current models.

They are already available for order but their shipment to the US market will be from next month. Later they will be commercialized in the rest of countries.

The new series of 60 cell LG NeON 2 modules has a power of up to 365 watts with an efficiency of 21.1%.

With a better temperature coefficient, they also offer higher energy performance optimized to improve performance throughout the year.

The new NeON 2 modules will initially ship from LG’s production facility in South Korea, and shortly thereafter also from LG’s factory in Huntsville, Alabama, which opened in 2019.

LG has increased US production capacity from 500 to 550 MW this year.

LG achieved the efficiency improvement by using larger wafers, which reduce the white space between cells while maintaining the traditional industry format of 60 cells for residential applications.
