Surely many times you have found a banana, or more than one, overripe at home, either in your refrigerator or in the fruit bowl, outside of it.

It is very sad to think about throwing it away but it is no longer “good” to eat for some people, even if that banana has its beneficial properties intact. Today we have a delicious recipe to recycle these overripe bananas. 

We are going to see  how to make a smoothy with these overripe bananas, a perfect drink to add more fruit and also use those bananas that are beginning to be overripe. 

Ingredients for two people.

  • 3/4 of a natural yogurt.
  • 1/2 glass of fruits (fresh or frozen fruit, blueberries, for example, or another fruit of your choice that you have at home).
  • A very ripe banana.
  • 1/2 glass of pineapple juice.
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon of flax seeds (Omega 3).


We just have to  put all the ingredients in a blender  and beat it so that it is ready to drink. 

When it is beaten we can add a pinch of ground cinnamon, a touch of  vanilla, or even a little mint.

Thus we will have  a very healthy smoothie, which will also be very rich and very sweet, with unprocessed sugars and on top of that we will have saved those overripe bananas from ending up in the trash. 

This smoothie is ideal to make children eat fruit almost without realizing it  or even those adults who do not like it too much and meet the maximum of taking 3 fruits a day to live longer and better.
