The electric version of the smart fortwo cabrio is already on the market. For the occasion, the German house published the prices and versions of its small zero-emission vehicle. It is equipped with an 82 horsepower (60 kilowatt) three-phase current synchronous electric motor with 160 Nm of torque.
Designed for more efficient driving: it also incorporates maximum speed limitation and adaptation to curves. The engine is powered by 17.6 kWh lithium-ion batteries produced by Deutsche Accumotive, which is part of the Daimler group. The declared range is 155 kilometers in the NEDC cycle. A full charge cycle takes approximately 4 hours.
From spring 2018 it will be available on request with a 22 kW fast charger, which will recharge it in shorter times: we are talking about less than 45 minutes (0-80%) three-phase charging mode.
The electric smart fortwo will be available in three versions: passion, prime and proxies, which offer different configurations and colors. The smart cabrio can be reserved from the beginning of May and the market launch will begin in July 2017. Prices start at 27,160 euros, about 3,500 euros more than the electric smart fortwo.
