One of the biggest surprises at this year’s CES is the Sony VISION-S: a prototype electric saloon that aims to showcase Sony’s efforts in the field of mobility, such as the pursuit of safety, reliability, comfort and entertainment.
Designed with the help of Magna and Bosch, the VISION-S incorporates Sony imaging and sensing technologies as well as on-board software regulated using Sony AI, telecommunication and cloud technologies in its prototype, in order to continually update and evolve its features.
It incorporates a total of 33 sensors, including CMOS image sensors and ToF sensors, built into the vehicle, to detect and recognize people and objects inside and outside the car, and provide highly advanced driving support. Sony’s “360 Reality Audio” provides an immersive audio experience through built-in speakers in each seat to envelop passengers in sound.
The front seats open onto a widescreen display where rich and diverse content can be enjoyed through an intuitive user interface. Sony will continue to combine its advanced technologies to deliver increased safety and reliability, while striving to inspire new emotions through revolutionary in-car entertainment experiences.
The Sony VISION-S is powered by two electric motors that provide 400 kW (544 hp) of power. With them, you can go from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.8 s and a top speed of 240 km / h.
